    Ansel Alabaster Wall Sconce

    Gold Leaf, Laid By Hand

The finish is applied leaf by leaf, so the surface breaks light into a hundred small variations. Nothing about it reads as sprayed metal.

    Warm Without Being Loud

Textured gold picks up whatever light is in the room and gives back a soft glow rather than a hard reflection. It flatters a wall instead of shouting at it.

    Artisanal By Construction

Every Ansel carries slightly different leafing, because a hand cannot repeat itself exactly. Aurelex treats that as the point, not a flaw.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is the gold finish shiny or matte?

Somewhere in between, and deliberately uneven. The leafing has texture in it, so it glows softly rather than mirroring the room back at you.

    Will two pieces look identical?

Close but not identical, because the leaf is laid by hand. Side by side they read as a matched pair with the small variation that tells you it was made rather than moulded.

    Where should I mount it?

Somewhere it catches light through the day, so the texture works. A hallway with a window at one end, a dining wall or beside a mirror all show it off.

    Does gold leaf wear off?

Not on a wall fixture that nobody handles. It is sealed over, so normal room life leaves it alone entirely. Just keep polishes and abrasive cloths away from it.

    How do I dust it?

A soft dry cloth or a clean dry brush, following the length of the arm. Nothing wet, nothing abrasive, and the leafing stays exactly as it arrived.
