Is the hammered texture consistent piece to piece?
Close, but never identical, and that is the point. The dimples are struck by hand, so each sconce carries a slightly different pattern. Mounted as a pair they still read as a matched set.
Is the alabaster real stone?
Yes, cut from natural alabaster, which is why the veining runs differently on every shade. That stone is what gives the light its warmth. A moulded shade cannot diffuse the same way.
Where does this one look best?
Anywhere people pass close to it, so the texture pays off. Hallways, either side of a bed, a dining wall or beside a mirror. The compact body means it does not crowd a narrow space.
How much light does one give?
Enough for warm accent light on its own, and plenty for a hallway in pairs. The alabaster spreads it wide and soft rather than pointing it in one direction, so the wall itself becomes part of the light.
How do I look after the finish?
Dust the brass and the stone with a soft dry cloth, nothing wet and nothing abrasive. The brass is sealed, so it keeps its warm tone instead of tarnishing unevenly.
