    Genuine Horsehair Wall Light

    A Material You Rarely See

Horsehair over brass gives this light a surface most sconces simply do not have. Soft against hard, natural against machined, and it shows from across the room.

Light With The Edge Taken Off

The hair filters the bulb into a warm haze instead of a defined beam. Rooms lit this way feel settled rather than switched on.

    Brass Underneath It All

The frame is solid brass, finished by hand and sealed to hold its tone. Aurelex puts the texture where you touch it and the metal where it has to last.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Is it really horsehair?

It is, laid over the shade by hand. That is why the surface has direction and slight variation in it rather than the flat uniformity of a printed fabric.

What does the light look like through it?

Warm and softened, with a faint texture in the glow where the hair lies. It is closer to lamplight than to a downlight, which makes it well suited to bedrooms and living rooms.

    Where does it suit best?

Rooms where you want atmosphere rather than task light. Beside a bed, in a lounge, along a landing. Somewhere people get close enough to notice the material.

Does the texture fade over time?

Kept out of direct sun and away from damp it holds up well. Natural fibre settles a little with age, which most owners find improves it rather than the reverse.

How do I clean the shade?

Brush it gently in the direction of the hair with a soft dry brush, or vacuum on the lowest setting. Never wet it. The brass takes a dry cloth and nothing more.
