How far does it drop from the ceiling?
Only the depth of the shell itself, so there is nothing to walk into. That is what makes it right for hallways, low bedrooms and landings.
Is resin as good as glass?
For a flush mount it is better in one respect. It diffuses more evenly than clear glass and it will not shatter, which matters on a ceiling in a busy home.
How does it compare to Bobbin?
Gourd is the larger of the two with a tapered curve. Bobbin is rounder and more compact. Pick Gourd for a hallway or bedroom, Bobbin for a small landing or closet.
Is it bright enough as a main light?
For a hallway, bedroom or bathroom, yes. The even diffusion means the light feels comfortable rather than harsh, which is what you want in a room you use daily.
How do I clean it?
A soft cloth, slightly damp if needed, then dry. Resin takes a wipe better than stone or fabric, so the odd fingerprint is no problem.
