Does light escape through the rope?
A warm amount does, which is part of the appeal. Most of the output goes down through the open base, and the glow through the weave gives the room its atmosphere.
Will it suit a room that is not coastal?
Easily. Natural fibre sits well with timber, linen and stone anywhere. It reads as texture first and as coastal only if the rest of the room leans that way.
How high should it hang?
About thirty inches above a table. Because the drum is shallow it clears sightlines easily and still puts the texture where people can see it.
How does it compare to the Reed pendant?
Reed is tiered and tall, Horizon is a single low drum. Same material, different presence. Horizon is the easier choice under a standard ceiling.
How do I clean woven rope?
Vacuum on a low setting with a soft brush, once or twice a year. Keep it dry. That is the whole routine.
