How far does it stand off the wall?
Only the depth of the disc itself. That is what makes it usable in a narrow hallway, along a staircase or in any spot where a projecting sconce would be in the way.
Is it bright enough to be useful?
As accent and wayfinding light, comfortably. A run of two or three down a corridor gives you a well lit route with a soft, even feel rather than harsh overhead light.
Can I fit it in a bathroom?
Beside a mirror it works well, giving even light across the face without the shadows a downlight creates. Keep it out of direct spray and follow your local wiring requirements.
Does the veining show when it is off?
Faintly, and it comes fully alive when lit. That change between day and night is one of the nicest things about a stone faced fixture.
How do I clean the face?
A dry soft cloth across the disc every few months. No sprays and no damp cloth, and the stone keeps its clear even tone.
