Does the stitching show when lit?
It shows more clearly, because the light picks out the lines through the fabric. That change between off and on is one of the nicest things about it.
Will beige suit a cool room?
It works well as a warming element against grey or cool white walls. If the room is already warm, the shade simply blends rather than standing out.
How much light does a drum shade give?
Plenty, and comfortably spread. Light passes through the fabric and out the open base, so you get both ambient glow and a good pool below.
Where should it hang?
Over a dining table or in a bedroom, roughly thirty inches above a table surface. In a bedroom, higher, since it is being read as a ceiling fixture.
How do I clean the fabric?
Vacuum on the lowest setting with a soft brush head, following the stitch lines. Keep it dry, since water marks fabric shades permanently.
